Memory Care

We have a Memory Care unit that allows residents an enhanced quality of life that specifically caters to patients with memory/cognitive diseases and disorders. Our dementia program is structured to provide a unique, nurturing environment for the residents that we serve. Through an enhanced community life program, thoughtful physical design, and specialty trained staff, the residents are afforded opportunities to maintain their highest possible level of physical, social, and psychosocial functioning.

The essence of Andrus on Hudson is our unwavering dedication to community, inclusivity, and excellence. These are the cornerstones upon which we've built not just our reputation, but our entire approach to care. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment that empowers our staff and uplifts our residents and patients, ensuring that every individual feels part of a greater whole that is always moving forward.

The Magic Table

The Tovertafel, also known as the "Magic Table," has brought numerous benefits to our residents, particularly those living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. This innovative tool uses interactive light projections on a table surface, encouraging users to engage in playful activities designed to stimulate both physical and cognitive skills. By promoting social interaction, the Tovertafel helps combat loneliness and isolation, providing a joyful and communal experience. It supports fine motor skills and coordination through engaging games that require reaching, swiping, and grabbing. Additionally, it offers cognitive stimulation through puzzles and memory games, contributing to the mental well-being of our residents. The Tovertafel's inclusive design allows individuals of different ability levels to participate, fostering a sense of achievement and boosting self-esteem. Overall, the Tovertafel enhances the quality of life for residents by providing a fun, engaging, and therapeutic activity that supports their physical, social, and cognitive health.

Intergenerational Program

Our residents enjoy our intergenerational programming. Participation in meaningful cross-age relationships decreases social isolation and increases the resident’s sense of belonging, self-esteem, and well-being, while also improving the social and emotional skills of youth participants.

Elopement Prevention Program

We have a system that allows for mobility within the building ensuring the safety of our residents.
