End of Year Giving

December 14, 2022

Dear Friends of Andrus on Hudson;

For almost 70 years, Andrus on Hudson has provided compassionate and high-quality care for individuals in Westchester County.

As a 501(c) (3) non-profit nursing home, Andrus on Hudson is faced with many challenges including inadequate reimbursement for the care and services we provide for over 70% of our residents. Over the last decade, many non-profit nursing facilities in New York State have found themselves unable to sustain operations and have been forced to sell their facilities or close their doors. According to the NYS Charities Bureau (Office of State of New York Attorney General), in the past several years 5% of non-profit nursing homes in NY have been sold to for-profits annually.

Our organization is more than just a nursing home-- it embodies the vision, purpose and principles of John E. Andrus and the Andrus Family, whose commitment to Westchester County endures.

In short, we are asking for your help to keep Andrus on Hudson an “island of tranquility surrounded by a raging ocean” for the individuals we serve today and the many thousands of individuals who will rely on us in the future.

Your support and contributions help sustain the organization and make it possible to provide our residents and patients with quality care and services, intergenerational programming, enrichment through technology innovations and much more.
